From 13th February to 15th February, the JUST-GREEN AFRH2ICA promoted an intense series of events, starting from the project General Assembly on 13th passing through the stakeholders events on 14th February and the training event 16th February.
With a focus on promoting a just transition to green hydrogen in Africa, the consortium shared in these events the results of the first year of the project having the chance to interact with an assembly that brought together key stakeholders from Kenya, Africa, and Europe to align clean energy policies and strategies, develop joint green hydrogen roadmaps, and foster international partnerships.
The role of stakeholders is crucial in JUST GREEN AFRH2ICA project and the possibility to collect inputs both from speakers and attendees (more than 100) to the event is a key outcome of this Kenyan week, that brings further boost to the project next steps and R&D activities.
By bringing together stakeholders from various sectors and EU-AU countries, the project fosters indeed cooperation and knowledge-sharing to accelerate progress in establishing sustainable hydrogen solutions across Africa and setup mutual benefits initiatives in Europe and Africa, also considering that, as highlighted by Mirela Atanasiu, Executive Director a.i. of the Clean Hydrogen Partnership, there are many topics where both Africa and Europe have to develop their own know-how and technical/non-technical approach to pave the way for their hydrogen transition and a cross-fertilizing support is crucial as JUST GREEN AFRH2ICA team had the chance to experience in Nairobi.
The JUST GREEN AFRH2ICA Kenyan week events stands as a testament to Africa’s commitment to Hydrogen transition, where the consortium had the chance to intercept the recommendations from project stakeholders as well as the passion and commitment to hydrogen transition of young researchers and local hydrogen actor who attended the training event.
