
Irene Giribaldi is the Head of Cooperation at the European Union (EU) Delegation to Kenya, where she is in charge of strategy formulation, programming and implementation of development cooperation and EU international partnerships.
Previously, she was posted in Zimbabwe as Head of EU Cooperation, where she led in designing and negotiating the EU-Zimbabwe cooperation strategy for 2021-2027.
Before that, Mrs Giribaldi was Deputy Head of EU cooperation with East, Southern Africa and the Indian Ocean in EU headquarters in Brussels. This followed her role as Head of Economic Development at the EU Delegation to Albania and as cooperation country desk for countries in East and South Asia.
Before joining the EU in 2002, Mrs Giribaldi worked as assistant CEO at a global tech company, Electronic Data System, and as representative at the EU for an Employers’ association.
Mrs Giribaldi holds a Master of Arts in European Politics and Administration and a Master Degree in Political Science, International Law and Politics.
