JUST-GREEN AFRH2ICA (grant no. 101101469; https://lnkd.in/dyATByFj) will analyse green hydrogen scenarios by following a life-cycle sustainability approach.
In this regard, the latest guidelines for environmental, economic and social life cycle assessment of hydrogen-related systems will be applied.
To that end, the Systems Analysis Unit of IMDEA Energy will implement the latest advancements coming from the SH2EProject (grant no. 101007163; https://sh2e.eu/).
In this project coordinated by IMDEA Energy, tailor-made guidelines for environmental life cycle assessment (LCA) and life cycle costing (LCC) of hydrogen-related systems have already been delivered, while those for social life cycle assessment (S-LCA) are ready for delivery in June 2023.
The uptake of this set of guidelines will allow a robust, holistic assessment of the technologies involved in the hydrogen value chains explored in JUST-GREEN AFRH2ICA under sustainability indicators, thereby contributing to the overall goal of guaranteeing a green hydrogen just transition.
