Piero Ercoli, born in Viterbo, Italy, in 1979, has headed Snam’s Decarbonization Projects unit, which brings together the company’s activities in hydrogen and carbon dioxide capture and sequestration, since July 2022. He joined Snam in July 2021 as senior vice president CFO Office and International.
He previously worked for 16 years in the Eni group, where he held positions of increasing responsibility. From 2005 to 2009 he took on various roles in the Gas Supply department of Eni Gas & Power managing, among other projects, the company’s entry into Russia and the definition of a strategy for access to the U.S. market. From 2010 to 2011 he worked in Eni’s CEO Office and then supported the development of the trading business in Eni Trading & Shipping in London, with responsibilities as Head Power & Carbon Trading and then Vice President Biofuel Trading. In 2016 he returned to Milan where, until 2020, he served as Senior Vice President Market Analytics, Strategy and Market Design of Eni Gas Power & LNG Marketing. From 2020 to 2021, he served as Head of LNG Portfolio Management in Eni’s naturalresources Directorate.
A graduate in Management, Economics and Industrial Engineering from the Milan Polytechnic, he began his professional career in 2004 as a Business Analyst in the strategic consulting firm Busacca & Associati.
